Woorms FAQ

A few things worth knowing.

Less guessing. More playing.

Is Woorms free? Do I need an account?

Woorms is free to play in your browser. You do not need to create an account or download a separate game. Choose a name and start a run.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Woorms has touch controls and supports portrait and landscape play. Desktop players steer with a mouse; touch players can use the joystick or touch-pointer controls. See the controls guide for sprint, crawl and menu actions.

Can I play without an internet connection?

Practice runs against AI in your browser without connecting to a game server. You still need to load the website and its game files first. This is not a promise that a fresh visit or a page reload will work without internet access. Online multiplayer needs an active connection.

Are all the other worms real players?

No. The online arena includes AI opponents as well as human players. Practice is played against AI. Do not treat the number of worms on screen as a count of people online.

Does opening the menu pause my run?

Practice pauses while its menu is open. Online play continues, including movement and danger from other worms. The online menu shows a warning; leave the run if you need to step away.

Do skins make my worm stronger?

No. Skins and accessories change appearance, not speed, size or collision rules. Powerups are collected in the arena. Read the powerup guide for their effects and current differences between modes.

Why does my new length appear at the tail?

That is intentional. New pieces start at your existing tail tip, overlapping at first, and spread naturally along the traveled path. Growth should not push a line of segments backward behind that point.

Why did my saved choices disappear?

Preferences and your saved best are stored in this browser, not in a cross-device account. Clearing site data, using a different browser profile or denying storage can prevent those choices from carrying over.

What if the game will not load?

Allow JavaScript for this site and use a browser with WebGL support. If a loading warning offers Reload, try it once to fetch the current release. If online play cannot connect but Practice works, the game server or your network connection may be unavailable. These guides remain readable without JavaScript.
